Velawoods is an interactive learning game devised with and for Cambridge University Press and Learn Direct UK, in which the player is immersed into a small english town where the user interacts with its friendly inhabitants via speech analysis techniques and learns English through a plethora of in-game activities. At the end of each successfully completed course, the player is awarded an officially certified Cambridge diploma, making this software fit for students as well as for multi-cultural organisations willing to adopt new technologies. The game was developed by Route 1 Games in Sheffield, UK, and has been released in the first quarter of 2015 on Android, iOS and Windows – since then, it has helped thousands of people learn a new language in an interactive and engaging way.
